WHO WE ARE.
The Mississippi Public Health Institute (“MSPHI,” “us” or “we”) is committed to respecting the privacy rights of visitors and users of its website, www.odfree.org, (the “Site”). MSPHI has created this Website Privacy Policy (“Policy”) to give you confidence as you visit and use the Site, and to demonstrate our commitment to fair information practices and the protection of privacy.
COMMENTS.
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent
string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your comment is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
COOKIES (or browser cookies).
A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of our website. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to our website.
FLASH COOKIES.
Certain features of our website may use local stored objects (or Flash cookies) to collect and store information about your preferences and navigation to, from, and on our website. Flash cookies are not managed by the same browser settings as are used for browser cookies.
WEB BEACONS.
Pages of our website and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).
We do not collect personal information automatically, but we may tie this information to personal information about you that we collect from other sources, or you provide to us. We utilize omnichannel marketing tactics to promote our website.
We utilize Facebook, Google, and many other platforms that have their own data collecting methods and policies.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES.
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in.
WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH.
We will not share your personal information with any third parties without your consent. We may use your personal information to verify your identity. We may also use your contact information to inform you of any changes to the Site or to send you additional information about our organization.
DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION.
We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (1) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on MSPHI or its subsidiaries or affiliates, (2) protect and defend the rights or property of MSPHI or the users of the Site, or (3) act under exigent circumstances to protect the safety of the public or users of the Site.
HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
CONTACT INFORMATION AND POLICY UPDATES.
If you have any questions about this Policy, our practices related to this Site, or if you would like to have us remove your contact information
from our database, please contact us at: SUPPORT@MSPHI.org.
Updates and Changes.
We reserve the right, at any time, to add to, change, update, or modify this Policy, simply by posting such change, update, or modification on the Site and without any other notice to you. Any such change, update, or modification will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site. It is your responsibility to review this Policy from time to time to ensure that you continue to agree with all its terms.
